Wozniacki wins AIG Japan Open

Caroline Wozniacki, tennis cutie pie from Denmark, sailed through the 2008 WTA Tour AIG Japan Open Tennis Championships played Sep. 29 - Oct 5 in Tokyo, Japan.

In the championship match, the # 1 seed, Wozniacki, defeated 5th seed, Kaia Kanepi of Estonia 6-2, 3-6, 6-1. Wozniacki has a world ranking of 16. That world ranking will continue to rise if Wozniacki continues winning tournaments. She’s got some world-class abs also, don’t you think!

Jankovic returns to # 1

Jelena Jankovic looks rather sexy sitting here by the piano. But she has been doing more than playing piano. She has been playing consistent enough tennis that she has regained the # 1 world ranking on the WTA tour.

Jankovic just won the 2008 WTA Tour Porsche Tennis Grand Prix played Sep. 29 - Oct. 5, 2008 in Stuttgart, Germany. She defeated Nadia Petrova of Russia 6-4, 6-3. That was enough to raise her above Serena Williams of the USA who was ranked # 1 last week. Serena dropped to # 2.

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova - keep an eye on her!

Keep an eye on this Russian tennis cutie pie, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova. At the age of 17, she is already ranked 76th in the world.

Pavlyuchenkova is from Samara, Russia and turned pro in December, 2005. In 2006 she won both the Australian Open and U.S. Open junior titles and finished the season as the top-ranked girl in the ITF world rankings at age 15. In 2007 she didn’t do quite as well after joining the WTA tour. Still, she reached the 2nd round at Roland Garros, the 3rd round at Wimbledon, and the 2nd round at the US Open. She already has one career WTA doubles title, 3 ITF Women’s Circuit singles titles, and eight ITF Women’s Circuit doubles titles.

She has now graduated from High School and is working harder on her game, so expect to see more of her. And she is a cutie, so it will be enjoyable keeping our eyes on her. Another Russian cutie pie. Where do they all come from?

Maria Kirilenko wins Hansol Korea Open

Russian tennis cutie pie, Maria Kirilenko, is shown here with her championship trophy from the Hansol Korea Open on Sept. 28, 2008. With this win, Kirilenko added to her previous singles titles this year. She won the Estoril and Barcelona championships earlier this year, and has five WTA titles to her name.

Kirilenko was the top seed in the tournament. She defeated 61st ranked Samantha Stosur of Australia, 2-6, 6-1, 6-4.

Maria Sharapova thong

According to her official website, MariaSharapova.com, Russian tennis cutie pie Maria Sharapova has decided to “shut it down” for the year. She has been nursing a shoulder injury which is taking longer than expected to heal. She says, “Just put me in a suit and I easily fit in to the everyday 9 to 5 workday hours, weekends off sort of deal.”

She can’t fool me. While the rest of us are slaving away, she is posing for photos like this. I’m not complaining. She gives us great photos to look at. But I’m guessing her idea of a 9 to 5 workday is a little different than for most of us. At least I know she doesn’t have to check her bank account to see if she can afford to fill up the gas tank. After all, her reported income from last year is $23 million.

So, Maria, we don’t want to see you in a suit. We’d rather see that Maria Sharapova thong! Just keep posing for those sexy pictures, we’ll keep searching for them, and we’ll look for you on the tennis court next season! Good luck with your recovery!

Ivanovic ousted in Quarterfinals

Serbian sexy tennis cutie pie, Ana Ivanovic, is out of the 2008 WTA Tour China Open in Beijing, China. She was defeated in the Quarterfinals by 30th ranked Zheng Jie of China, 6-7 (4-7), 6-2, 4-6.

Ivanovic is shown here in the photo playing in her 2nd round match against Alize Cornet of France. Ivanovic won that match 6-1, 7-6 (7-1).

Ivanovic had a Bye into the 2nd round. So she only won one match in this tournament. Ivanovic has won only five matches in her last five tournaments combined. I know she can do better than that. Next year will be better. It will, it will, it will.

Hantuchova beaten by Jankovic

Daniela Hantuchova shows that sweat counts for something. At least it makes the photo a little more interesting. However, whatever sweating she did in this practice session wasn’t enough to beat Jelena Jankovic in the 2008 WTA Tour China Open held Sept. 22-28 in Beijing, China. Hantuchova lost the Quarterfinal match 5-7, 1-6.

Hantuchova was seeded 7th in the match. She won her first two rounds against 47th ranked Gisela Dulko of Argentina (6-3, 6-1) and 38th ranked Tamarine Tanasugarn of USA, 6-1, 0-6, 7-5. But running up against # 2 ranked Jankovic proved too much.

Hantuchova lost in the first round of her last tournament, the WTA Tour Toray Pan Pacific Open. So making it to the Quarterfinals was good. Keep sweating, Daniela, and we’ll keep watching!

Chakvetadze goes down in 2nd round

Russian tennis cutie pie, Anna Chakvetadze, lost in the second round of the 2008 WTA Tour China Open being played in Beijing, China Sept 22-28. Her tennis didn’t look as good in her match as she does in this photo, where she seems to be saying, “How dare you beat me! Anyone else want to try?”

Chakvetadze, seeded 8th in the tournament, won her first match against 42nd ranked Iveta Benesova of the Czech Republic, 6-4, 7-5. Then she lost in the next round in straight sets to 20th ranked unseeded Dominika Cibulkova of Slovakia.3-6, 2-6.

Chakvetadze lost in the 1st round of her two previous tournaments, the US Open, and the WTA Tour Toray Pan Pacific Open. So I guess making it to the 2nd round here is an improvement. Her world ranking of 12 is going to suffer, however, if she keeps this up.

Ivanovic loses again - 1st match!

Ana Ivanovic may look hot, steamy, and sexy off the court, but her game is anything but hot on the court. Ivanovic lost her first match, again.

Ivanovic lost to 18th ranked Nadia Petrova 1-6, 6-1, 2-6 in the 2nd round of the WTA Tour Toray Pan Pacific tournament played in Tokyo, Japan Sep. 15-21. She had a Bye in the 1st round, or she might not have made it into the 2nd round.

I’m not sure what’s going on, but since she gained the # 1 ranking earlier, she can’t seem to get past the 2nd round of a tournament. She has now dropped down to # 4. Oh well, steamy sexiness makes up for a lot, I guess.

According to The Sun, Russian sexy tennis cutie pie, Maria Kirilenko has been voted the sexiest tennis player on the WTA tour. The poll was run for six weeks and with 7,000 votes giving Maria Kirilenko the top spot. The poll was done by Orange.co.uk.

Ashley Harkleroad probably had an edge getting on the list since she posed for Playboy recently. But if I had a chance to vote, my vote would go to Ana Ivanovic, although Maria Kirilenko always shows that hint of cleavage, which is pretty nice! So I can’t say she didn’t deserve the # 1 spot.
