Jankovic ends year ranked No. 1

Jankovic retains No. 1

This is an amazing feat, considering Jelena Jankovic has never won a Grand Slam title. In fact, she has only reached the finals once, which was this year at the US Open where she was defeated by Serena Williams in straight sets.

Maria Sharapova to be No. 1!

Maria will take over that spot following the sudden announcement of Justine Hennin’s retirement. Jestine requested that her World No. 1 ranking be removed from the Tour Rankings opening the way for the current No. 2, Maria, to move into the World No. 1 spot.

Ana Ivanovic ranked # 2
