Wozniacki retires from match in 2nd round

Danish tennis cutie pie, Caroline Wozniacki, retired from her match in the 2nd round of the WTA Tour Ladies Kremlin Cup played Oct. 6-12, 2008 in Moscow, Russia. Wozniacki had lost the first set 4-6, and was down 2-3 when she withdrew from the match. She was playing No. 13 Nadia Petrova from Russia. Petrova lost 6-4, 4-6, 6-7 (6-8) to fellow Russian, Elena Dementieva, in the Quarterfinals.
A report on TheSportsNetwork indicates Wozniaci retired from the match due to an upper respiratory illness. That’s too bad, since she was fresh off her win at Tokyo last week, and has won three of her last seven tournaments. She might have made it four out of eight.
