Russian tennis cutie pie, Elena Dementieva, has easily made her way into the 2nd week of the 2008 U.S. Open tennis tournament. She has yet to lose a set through three rounds.
Elena Dementieva won in the 1st round 6-4, 7-5 over 78th ranked Akgul Amanmuradova of Uzbekistan. In round two, Elena picked up steam and won convincingly over 49th ranked Pauline Parmentier of France 6-2, 6-1. The steamroller kept going in round three with a straight sets victory, 6-3, 6-4 over 87th ranked Anne Keothavong of England.
That puts Elena into round four where she will face 36th ranked Na Li of China. The matches keep getting tougher as each round passes, but Elena seems up to the task.
Go Elena!
