Patty Schnyder into 2nd round at 2008 Rogers Cup

Swiss cutie pie, Patty Schnyder, is the 9th seed at the 2008 WTA Rogers Cup being held in Montreal, Canada July 28 - Aug 3.
In the first round, Patty won over 98th ranked Meng Yuan of China by default. Patty won the 1st set in a tie-break, 7-6(8-6). Yuan then retired down 2-3 in the 2nd set.
Patty’s next opponent will be 84th ranked Monica Niculescu of Romaina. I think Patty will do alright against Niculescu and make it into the 3rd round.
