Maria Sharapova seeded # 3 at Wimbledon

Russian cutie pie, Maria Sharapova, is seeded # 3 for the 2008 All England Lawn Tennis Championships which will be played June 23-July 6. Having just dropped from the # 1 world ranking to # 3, she has something to prove to the world in order to start her move back to # 1.
This will be Maria’s 6th appearance at Wimbledon. She has one championship in 04, and reached the semifinals in 05 and 06. Last year she was defeated in the fourth round.
Maria’s first round opponent is 105th ranked 27-year-old Stephanie Foretz of France who has never made it past the second round in six tries. Maria should do well at Wimbledon which is her favorite tournament. Go Maria!
