Ana Ivanovic photoShe did it! Cutie pie Ana Ivanovic is the 2008 French Open Champion.

Ana defeated Dinara Safina 6-4, 6-3. She showed all the composure and strength of a true champion, not to mention being a total cutie pie the entire match.

This was Ana’s 4th appearance at the French Open. She was a finalist last year, but was afflicted by nerves winning only three games against former # 1 ranked and recently retired Justine Henin. She said last year was a great learning experience. She proved that this year.

Ivanovic won match point with a backhand up the line, then dropped her racket, collapsed into a crouch and covered her face. After blowing kisses to the crowd, she used a chair to climb into the stands and share hugs with family and friends. It was a great moment for a great cutie pie.

This was not only Ana’s first French Open title, but her first Grand Slam title. Ana is only 20 years old. She should have a lot more championships to come.

By the way, I was correct with my prediction that Ana would win this tournament.
