Ana Ivanovic survives 2nd round scare

Serbian cutie pie, Ana Ivanovic, is seen here in action during her second round match against 97th ranked Nathalie Dechy of France. Ana was not playing up to her normal game, and Nathalie was playing outstanding tennis resulting in a close scare for Ana, the #1 ranked player in the world.
Ana lost the first set in a tie-break 2-7. She faced several match points in the second set, with one of her shots on match point against her just dropping over after hitting the net cord. Ana then went on to win that set in a tie-break 7-3. The final set went into overtime with Ana coming out on top 10-8. They do not play a tie-break in the final set at Wimbledon.
That was a wake-up call for Ana. She will never make it through the tournament playing close matches like that. The next time the net cord won’t be so nice to her.
Ana will now face 24-year-old Jie Zheng of China. Jie is ranked 133rd in the world, so should not be a real challenge for Ana. But then, neither should she have been challenged in the last match.
